It’s November. Thanksgiving time. The month of gratitude! Understandably, when a person thinks of the year 2020, their first thoughts may not be: I’m so thankful. It seems like we are more prone to say—disaster! Or—can we forget this ever happened? However, it’s also good to remember that life is a gift with many blessings within it. There are moments from these past few months that I don’t want to rush through, skip over, or erase. There were lessons learned. Time spent with loved ones. With each new twenty-four hours of opportunity, we must choose to move forward with joy regardless of any outside circumstances (Colossians 3:23-24).
Here are some of my family’s highlights that I hope will make you smile!
- January: We spent time with our great-grandparents (and their dog)!
- February: Baby figured out how to eat finger foods. So many snuggles given and milestones met this year!
- March: We mailed out lots of colorful pictures to our family and friends!
- April: We learned all about the special time of Easter. The oldest listened, and told me, “Christ arose!”
- May: Happy birthday boys!
- June: I had an excellent helper for Sunday potlucks.
- July: We enjoyed spending time outside. A boy after my own heart, this kid is pretending to be Yadier Molina at bat!
- August: We celebrated a new family member’s entry into the world.
- September: After teaching myself to blog, social network, and write a novel, I attended a virtual writer’s conference. I have always liked to write but it wasn’t until I started reading books, scanning articles and connecting with others in the industry that I realized, this is something I can actually work towards!
- October: Carved our first Jack-o-Lantern!
I can’t wait to see what the rest of November has in store as we look forward to rejoicing in the light of the world at Christmastime.
What is something that you are thankful for in 2020? I am thankful for you who took the time to read my post today! Be sure and tag me if you decide to make your own tribute to this year’s precious memories!
